DISTRICT GOVERNOR; SERRAN REMIGIUS NWADIKE VISITS SERRA CLUB OF IPAJA

It was a great funfair when Serra Club of Ipaja on November 28, 2021 welcomed the District Governor; Serran Remigius Nwadike on his statutory Annual visits to clubs 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church Gowon Estate Ipaja Lagos.

On ground to welcome him with Guards of Honour was the President; Serran Joseph Anjorin alongside other top executives. Strategies for moving the club were deliberated on with great advice reeled out by the District Governor whose main concern was to see Serra Club of Ipaja moved to another level.

The President pointed out areas the club has achieved giant strides on and other areas to be improved on with future planned strategies.

There was presentation of appreciation awards to deserving members and others by the president before everyone hit the dance floor during the refreshment time.

It should be noted that Serra Club of Ipaja has been advancing the cause of promoting the call to Vocations and religious lives through various supports. The photos tell more of the stories during the wonderful moments

SERRA CLUB OF IPAJA AWARDS DESERVING ALTAR SERVERS AND PARENTS OF RELIGIOUS

In order to further project their objective of encouraging religious life, the serra club of Ipaja Lagos Nigeria organized an award recently at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Aboru Iyana Ipaja Lagos on Sunday 25th July 2021 to appreciate different altar servers from different parishes of Ipaja deanery who passed a rigorous test set by them. The event was also brightened with awards to the parents of priests and religious for encouraging their children to tow the rightful path of religious vocation.

The ceremony which was held after a thanksgiving mass in the church presided over by the Parish Priest; Rev. Fr Daniel Nwankwo reinforced the zeal of some young ones to embrace the religious vocation.

The President of the Club; Serran Olusegun Anjorin reminded all of the major objective of the club which is promoting the vocations to priesthood and religious while reeling out the numerous supports given by Serra Club of Ipaja to numerous Priests and religious since their inauguration and further encouraged others to join the club to enhance the apostolate.

It was glitz and glamour on March 1, 2020 when members of Serra Club of Ipaja Lagos gathered for the installation of their new officers, unveiling their website and other communication channels and launching of a book on leadership authored by the incoming President; Serran Olusegun Anjorin.

The event which started off with a Thanksgiving Mass by 10am at St Alphonsus Catholic Church Aboru Iyana Ipaja was officiated by the Parish Priest; Rev. Fr (Dr) Daniel Nwankwo and the Spiritual Director/Chaplain of the Club in the Archdiocese of Lagos; Very Rev.Fr Obayomi. The newly appointed officers were inaugurated at the Mass and charged with the responsibility of working to fulfill the Serra objective of supporting and promoting vocations to Priesthood and other religious lives.

In his acceptance speech the newly installed President reeled out his Four-point agenda which would cover the following areas during his 24-month reign in office: Restoration and consolidation, Annual membership drive, Training and re-training of members and the revisiting and resuscitation of various programmes of the club

The high point of the event was the special merit Awards presented to Very Rev. Monsignor Livinus Ukah for his support over the years to Serra Club of Ipaja and other nominated diligent members. A special review of a book on Leadership authored by the incoming President was done before it was unveiled and launched to the admiration of many. The new website of Serra Club of Ipaja: www.serraclubofipaja.org.ng was launched alongside their official Facebook page: SERRA CLUB IPAJA to further entrench membership; a new initiative of the incoming President. With this online communications initiative, Serra Club of Ipaja is the first Serra Club in Nigeria with a dynamic website.

Serra Club of Ipaja, Lagos formed in 2006 and granted a charter status in 2007 became the 5th club in Nigeria to be chartered with its international headquarters in the USA, over the years has lived up to her mission of supporting and promoting vocations to the Catholic Priesthood. The Club constitutes lay men and women who love the Priests and Religious and do everything to support and promote those that have taken the decision to join the Priestly order and other Catholic Religious

Come March 1st, 2020 all roads would lead to Ipaja axis of Lagos state Nigeria to witness a grand event in the history of Serra Club of Ipaja Lagos Nigeria where the Club which is the 5th in Nigeria to get its Charter status would install her new executives in a ceremony that would kick off with a Thanksgiving Mass by 10am at St Alphonsus Catholic Church Aboru-Iyana Ipaja Lagos.

The event would also feature the unveiling of the official website and Social Media Channels of the Club, the Launching of a book authored by the incoming President; Serran Olusegun Anjorin and several other Activities.

Serra Club with it’s international headquarters in the USA, over the years has lived up to her mission of supporting and promoting vocations to the Catholic Priesthood. The Club constitutes lay men and women who love the Priests and Religious and do everything to support and Promote those that have taken the decision to join the Priestly order and other Catholic Religious.

According to the Secretary/PRO of the Club; Serran Dominic Diala, the Serra Club of Ipaja boasts of being among the very active ones in Nigeria with various executed projects aimed at promoting the vocations in the Catholic Church.

It would surely be an epoch making event that no one could afford to miss.
